Executive Chairman

Gerard is Income Direct’s Chief Executive and Chairman. He has over 30 years’ experience in board and senior management roles throughout Asia-Pacific in high growth technology and consumer focused businesses.

Prior to joining Income Direct Gerard was Managing Director of ADA Axiata Group. ADA was a division of the stock exchange listed multinational conglomerate which has interests in technology and communications-focused asset classes including finance and banking licenses. There he worked with leading international brands to identify ways to grow their balance sheets whilst overseeing three operating businesses in the Indonesia market including their investment portfolios.

Gerard is experienced in leadership, management, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring assets and leading digital transformation. As the Chief Information Officer of Ai XPRT Gerard oversaw the implementation of a fintech and regulatory technology platform involving KYC and AML functions for a UK-based parent company which serviced various recognised financial institutions. The business was subsequently sold to a private equity form achieving a significant return on investment for its shareholders.

Gerard has headed up an Australian software company as its Group CEO and has previously been Vice President for Asia-Pacific in a mobile communications company which serviced over 10 million customers based out of Silicon Valley, California.

Gerard obtained a Bachelor of Economics from James Cook University in Brisbane and was awarded Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) by the Malaysian Academic Doctors Association for Social Science and service to the community.

Gerard is on the Investment Committee which oversees the deployment of capital raised by Income Direct.

Gerard regularly makes himself available to speak with current and prospective clients as he considers this important to ensuring Income Direct is in tune with client requirements and achieves a high level of customer satisfaction.

Non-Executive Director

Michael is Group Chairman of Income Direct’s parent company, Marbanc International.

Michael has over 30 years’ experience as a Senior Executive within leading Equity Capital Markets organisations throughout Asia-Pacific and Europe. He is a regular speaker at international events including Financial Service Industry, Regulatory, Government and sector-specific events.

Michael brings substantial experience to the Income Direct board of directors through his successful career which spans investment banking, capital raising, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation.

Michael has held positions including as CEO of the Sydney Stock Exchange and Head of Thompson Reuters’ Trading business in Asia where he was responsible for Financial & Risk’s Trading franchise in the region.

Michael was previously Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for National Australia Bank’s Global Markets division.

Prior to this Michael held roles with BZW, Barclays and ABN Amro where Michael was a Global Chief Operating Officer. Additionally, Michael has also been a founding partner of market leading mobile payments business, a Money market and Debt Exchange and a digital exchange with successful exits for each.

Michael has a Global Executive MBA from the University of Sydney, where he was awarded Beta Gamma Sigma and has been awarded GDS, International Leader of the year.

His investment experience spans multiple sectors including financial services, ESG, private & capital markets, property funds, tech, payments, agriculture, marketing & branding, renewable energy and natural resources.
